We use an proven method, multi-layered construction process to structure our decorative paving projects that far exceeds the traditional concrete or asphalt design. Our installation begins with an excavation of up to 14″ for heavy vehicular loads, we then install between 4″ and 10″ Class II Baserock aggregate upon a geotextile fabric for your driveway or patio, a sharp angled bedding sand layer is next and placed before your paver of choice is hand laid in the color and pattern you select. We provide a standard of excellence while maintaining a commitment to a ‘Green Earth’ by recycling used concrete and landscape pavers and using recycled aggregates which meet and or exceed American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards for the sub-grade composition of our projects. When we bought our house seven years ago, our 40-year old poorly installed cement circular driveway was already badly cracked, but the bottom fell out of the housing market and so did the equity in our house, so we waited. When we were ready, we wanted to do it right - we had about 2000 square feet of driveway! We were finally going to get our backyard remodeled. We received proposals from many paver and pool contractors. We selected TPG because their owner, Brian Schmidt, spent much time with us. He submitted a plan (drawing) and could do the entire project, including the pool. He admitted being more expensive and made up for that with quality and attention to detail. Our project needed a lot of that. Then the project began and we met the tradesmen. TPG have had the same crew for over 10 years and they are family. This means a lot. The quality of the work shined through. We now have an exotic backyard that sheens day or night. What we have today is because of Brian. He had a vision that went far beyond any of his competitors. Every day I look out the window and see what he created. If your looking for a paver company – you’re welcome to come and look at what TPG did for us. I highly recommend TPG.

We hired the Paver Guys to help us rebuild our huge retaining wall and accompanying trail/walkway up the hill in our yard. The stairs were uneven and path had worn away and even though my family loves the view I felt it was no longer safe for them to venture up there. Brian and his team addressed all our safety concerns and rebuilt the wall the right way. Not only is our retaining wall safe and even but it looks a million times better as well. We had them add new lighting and refresh the walkway so my family can make the most of our yard. Brian and his team were very professional and courteous. Most importantly their work was done timely and efficiently. They made sure that everything was done right and that we were happy with the end result. In fact, we were so pleased with our yard that we plan on using them for future projects down the line.

Brian Schmidt and his crew did an excellent job on restoring my 60 foot in diameter round pen I use for my horses. I met him by chance on a Wednesday at MacAlvey's Nursery in Martinez while I was ordering sand for my round pen. He overheard my dilemma and offered solutions. He came to my property the same day I shared with him my challenge. The next day he and his lead supervisor were out explaining what needed to be done and how to approach the challenge. The following day his crew of 6 staff were on my property by 7 am, leveled my round pen, laid down a product to keep the sand from eventually settling into the hard clay soil, and prepared it for 7 loads of sand, a total of 42 cubic yards. This work took all day preparing the round pen and then spreading the sand by hand, not equipment. but they stayed with it and completed the job by Friday. It was a huge job and I am so pleased with the outcome. I know my horses will safely be able to be worked in the round pen now. Also Brian and his crew are on time, expedient and thorough, respectful, hardworking, knowledgeable, and committed. I have just under 2 acres and will definitely be a repeat customer! I highly recommend using The Paver Guys for any work they advertise on their website. Excellent company! Definitely a 5 start Company!

We had a great experience working with The Paver Guys, and we highly recommend the company. Brian, the owner, was a true partner. He worked with us in lockstep throughout the entire project, and helped us envision how we wanted live in our outdoor space, and create design to support that vision. As with any project, of course, there were some challenges and delays along the way. However, what really matters is how these issues are handled. We really appreciated how Brian quickly communicated with us, and how he and his team stepped up to resolve any concerns to ensure we were happy with the outcome. The result is wonderful. We have already received many, many compliments on the construction, the functionality, and the aesthetic beauty of the finished product. We are looking forward to enjoying our outdoor living space for many years to come.

Brian and his team designed; purchased materials; installed and continues to maintain our 360 yard (front, back, sides). Brian and his team worked quickly and efficiently bringing our ideas to life. He offered cost and time efficiencies when requested which was very helpful for us as we were first time home owners and this was our first project. Brain met with us weekly to provide a status of the project; walk the property and answer any questions. he closely managed his teams and subs and remained our single point of contact. He and his team were on time; worked 5-6 days a week and were even out there during smoke days to ensure delivering on our project in a timely manner. Brain offered ways to bring custom design to our home with-out adding too much cost (made a basketball key out of pavers) and were experts in offering materials within our price range. They did our pavers; pergola; basketball court; landscaping; retaining wall; artificial turf for play area; sod installation with gopher wire; landscape lighting and electrical; all drainage and irrigation systems. He also made suggestions for the future. Example: run the gas line now under the kids play area as we want to eventually turn that into an outdoor kitchen or fire-pit. 5 years later Brain and his team continue to help us maintain our pavers with power washing; sanding and sealing. He and his team are professional; easy to work with and true partners through the entire process. I highly recommend Paver Guys for your outdoor design and landscaping projects.
